Why am I getting a "Name on the security certificate does not match the name of the site" warning from my browser?

This just means that the certificate installed was issued for a different Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) than the one that is has been installed on.

If you are running your NetMAX Professional/Pro Suite for the first time, this is because the default certificate that is installed is not specific to your domain. It is either for the cybernet.com domain, or in later versions, the domain is set to localhost. To prevent you from receiving this warning message in your browser when administering it, you'll want to generate a new selfsigned certificate with the FQDN that you have given to your NetMAX.

  1. From Home, go to Services|Certificates, click on the red "x" to delete the current certificate, and click on OK to confirm the deletion.
  2. Click on CREATE, and create a new certificate with the name "admin", and ensure that the For Hostname field is correct.
  3. Fill out the other fiels (Organization, Division, City or Town, State or Province Full Name, Country)
  4. For Signer, check the radio button that says "Self-Sign", select an expiration date, and click on INSTALL (the one next to Self-Sign).
  5. You'll then want to Shutdown and reboot your NetMAX server.
