I'm using the DNS server on my NetMAX. How do I add an MX record?

Currently, the NetMAX Interface only supports adding additional domains and hosts to your DNS records.

If you wish to manually edit the DNS records (to setup round robin DNS or an MX record), you can find the named.hosts.yourdomain files in the /etc/namedb directory.

You will probably want to add these files to the commit.conf file as outlined in the article here, in order to prevent NetMAX from overwriting your changes.

Please note that once you start manually maintaining your DNS configuration files, the NetMAX Interface will no longer be able to maintain these files for you.

Note that in NetMAX 4.0x, MX records will automatically get configured when settings up your mail server. In Network|Domains|Mail, when you choose to handle mail for the domain, and you are also acting as the primary mail server for the domain, this MX record will get created for you. You should only need the above instructions when making specific customizations to the DNS records.
