[01/31/2001] As reported by Network Associate's COVERT Labs, there are buffer overflow vunerabilities in BIND versions 8.2.2 through to 8.2.2-P7, that can cause your DNS services to be compromised. This is an obvious secuirty problem.

This vunerability has been fixed in L22Pv31p2. We recommend that all Linux NetMAX customers upgrade to the most recent version to protect themselves against this vulnerability before it can be exploited.
