If you use the "Reset Password?" function, on the LCD display, to reset the administrative user's password before entering your license numbers and doing the initial commit, it will create the UserData sdb file with the wrong permissions, generating an error message during the initial commit, and permanently locking you out of the NetMAX.
Unable to read (retrieve) SDB file /var/conf/sdb/UserData: Magic number checking on perl storable failed at blib/lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into blib/lib/auto/Storable/retrieve.al) line 155, at (eval 453) line 1 Exacerbating this problem is a bug in the LCD display, where it will actually be in the "Reset Password?" stage, yet still display "Disk Usage" instead. This can cause you to accidentally reset your password instead of shutting down the NetMAX, if you don't pay attention to what the LCD screen says before pressing the power button again. For this reason, it is currently recommended that you don't attempt to power down the NetMAX while it is showing "Disk Usage" on the LCD screen. Or at least, make sure that it says the following after the first press:
Shutdown? Press POWER again. If you press the power button when the LCD displays "Reset Password?" or if it shows the following, then pressing the button again will reset the password of the stated user, which helps to prevent you from permanently locking yourself out of the NetMAX by forgetting your password.
Reset "username"? Press POWER... If you haven't performed your initial commit yet, it will display the following, when resetting the password. Make sure that you do not press the power button again.
Reset ""? Press POWER...
This will be corrected in NetMAX 4.02, as well as a feature added for disabling the firewall, to further prevent you from permanently locking yourself out of the NetMAX.
